The cinema has its own parking on site with disabled bays located at the front of the building.
This cinema is over two floors and has a lift to provide access to the two upper auditoria; screens 1 and 2. Screens 3, 4 and 5, along with our restaurant and bar, are situated on the ground floor.
Wheelchair Access - Merlin Cinema Thurso has wheelchair spaces in all screens and the Restaurant and Bar is accessible from the main foyer.
Wheelchair/carer spaces cannot be booked online, so please contact the cinema's box office during normal opening hours to enquire about seat reservations and/or other accessible facilities on 01847 894152.
Disabled Toilets - Facilities are available on the ground floor.
Subtitled Performances - We run captioned performances whenever possible on both weekend and weekday screenings. Check the website or call the cinema directly.
Relaxed/Autism Friendly Screenings - Relaxed/Autism friendly screenings are subtly-adapted screenings which create an environment that is welcoming for people with a range of conditions such as autism, learning disabilities and cognitive disorders. They have sound levels turned down, the lights left on at a low level and there are no trailers or adverts at the beginning of the film. Film-goers are able to make noise and to sit where they feel most comfortable. These screenings are usually the first Sunday in the month and often the first show of the day to avoid crowds. CEA Carer Card - Merlin Cinemas participate with the CEA card which is a national concessionary card developed by the UKCA for UK cinemas. This allows people with disabilities to obtain one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema. The aim of the CEA Card is to provide a consistent voluntary approach to the provision of complimentary tickets for people with disabilities. To find out more at the CEA Card website click here. CEA Cards are accepted for films on general release and event cinema, some restrictions may apply on private screenings.
